It is suitable for students progressing from Entry Level programmes or those who need to build confidence, practical skills and employability behaviours before moving on to Level 2 Engineering or related technical courses.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
Learners should demonstrate an interest in engineering and a willingness to develop practical skills. All applicants will complete an interview and initial assessment to ensure the course is appropriate.
What will I study ?
Learners are introduced to the engineering sector through practical and engaging units. Topics include health and safety in engineering workshops, basic engineering skills, using tools and equipment, engineering materials and processes, and introductory mechanical technologies. The course also develops teamwork, communication and employability skills.
How will I be assessed ?
Assessment is 100% internally assessed through coursework, practical tasks and projects. Learners build a portfolio of evidence which is internally assessed and externally quality assured by Pearson.

Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Engineering
