This course is designed for learners aged 16–18 who are new to Information Technology or who need a supportive introduction to digital skills. It is suitable for students progressing from Entry Level programmes or those who want to build confidence, practical IT skills and employability behaviours before moving on to Level 2 IT, Computing or Digital courses.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
Learners should demonstrate an interest in IT and digital technologies. All applicants will complete an interview and initial assessment to ensure the course is appropriate
What will I study ?
Learners will develop essential IT and digital skills through practical, project-based learning. Topics include using digital devices and software, creating digital information, spreadsheets, websites and digital graphics, solving basic technical IT problems, and using digital communication technologies. The course also develops transferable skills such as teamwork, organisation, communication and personal progression planning.
How will I be assessed ?
Assessment is 100% internally assessed through coursework, practical tasks and projects. Learners build a portfolio of evidence which is internally assessed and externally quality assured by Pearson.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Information Technology
