This online course is for those who wish to gain experience and a qualification in the field of assistive technology applied to health and social care in community settings. This programme will enable participants to develop their understanding of technology applications in care. Telehealth and telecare awareness for health and social care providers will provide participants with an understanding of the benefits of technology in health and social care, as well as advance their knowledge on implementing and evaluating service redesigns, and incorporating assisted living into care pathways.
The course is suitable for all ages and for those interested in how assisted living technologies can support the health & social care sector. Level 2 Literacy is a requirement.
The following topics will be studied: 1. Understanding the values and principles that govern the use of assisted living technology; 2. Understanding the benefits and challenges of assisted living technology; 3. Understanding how to solve the ethical and legal issues relating to assisted living technology; 4. Understanding how client assessment relates to the levels of assisted living technology to be used; 5. Understanding how to evaluate the use of assistive living technology in relation to its impact on an individual's quality of life; 6. Becoming able to use and evaluate the equipment made available through assisted living technology.
This is an online course and assessment is through a variety of methods designed to meet the learning outcomes.
Those who successfully complete this online course will receive a Level 3 Award in Assisted Living Awareness via e-learning.
