Barnet and Southgate College is currently recruiting a self-motivated individual with a “can do” attitude for an IT Support Technician to provide IT support to staff and students.
As part of the IT Support Team you will ensure the development and maintenance of the College’s computer system and associated IT services. The role involves providing timely customer-focused support to all stakeholders and maintenance of the IT infrastructure and service, in line with agreed service level agreements.
The role requires comprehensive knowledge and experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of IT equipment, including end user devices, servers, printers, AV equipment, networking, cabling, peripherals and consumables.
You must be a committed team player, have a genuine interest in technology with a willingness to learn, self-motivated and responsible. You must be able to effectively manage and organise your own time, identify project goals and plan to achieve them.
Good written and verbal communication skills, together with the ability to take ownership of incidents whilst ensuring issues are prioritised and resolved effectively, are essential for this role. You will also have a proven track record with troubleshooting and delivering an excellent service to stakeholders.
The post holder will be required to work 36 hours a week and may be required to work in the evenings or occasionally at the weekend.
The post holder will be required to work across all College sites and training venues.
