Aims and Objectives :

Learners of varying abilities and from a wide variety of ethnic and social backgrounds can enrol on full-time BTEC level 1, 2, 3 or Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and NVQ level 2 Coaching and CYQ Personal Training courses.
Run in partnership with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, the team of qualified, academy coaches from The Club will deliver the coaching and technical football components of the programme, ensuring a detailed programme that incorporates The FA’s 4 Corner Model in order to develop a player’s individual Technical/Tactical, Psychological, Social and Physical abilities.
All coaching staff have appropriate FA qualifications in football, are emergency first aid trained, and are CRB checked to enhanced level. Coache's from Tottenham Hotspur also work within The Club Academy and Development Centre.
Student athletes as part of this scheme will be accessing an exciting, high quality study programme, encompassing the main sports qualification, English, maths, employability skills and Sport National Governing Body Coaching awards including FA available throughout the year. This in addition to the 3 sessions a week of football including a high quality fixture and games programme.
Learners will have lessons at the Southgate Campus and receive training at the semi professional Bostik league club Haringey Borough's stadium - Coles Park. Students will also have occasional access to sessions at the Academy and First Team training ground over the duration of the year. Transport will be provided for learners to and from all of the above facilities free of charge. Learners who enrol on the course will be required to sign a code of conduct, and will not be allowed to train or play football unless they are up-to-date with their academic commitments
Additional benefits include a full-time team of physiotherapists and clinic sessions will be available for all learner athletes and free gym access to the Colleges performance gym with Strength and Conditioning Support available. All BSC players in the elite squad are provided with the official Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Nike Training and playing kit for the programme, and all others receive top of the range Nike teamwear package.
The programme services fixtures for a variety of levels; from an elite squad competing at college level in national competitions, through to a development squad competing more locally, and levels in between these. Students will often progress between all squads during the course of the academic year, dependent upon form, fitness and ability. All squads are entered into suitable leagues and cup competitions, ensuring that there are enough games for all players, and at the right level.
