This course is for students who are confident at using a DSLR camera and familiar with shooting in manual mode. You will spend a large portion of the course in the photography studio creating high resolution and professional photographs. Using our fully equipped photographic studio you will explore photographic technique, equipment, composition and lighting. Please note some basic photographic knowledge is required and health and safety is to be met at all times.

There are no formal entry requirements, but an interest in photography and a commitment to improve your photography skills is essential. Basic computer knowledge is also required. Please note this is a non-academic programme.

You will be introduced to our photography facilities and be required to attend a health and safety briefing before using any professional equipment. This course is ideal for people who want to learn a variety of different types of photography such as food, commercial, still life and portrait photography.

Your assessment will be based on your portfolio of work, which will be produced throughout the programme. You will upload this work to an online portfolio provided by the College.

A College certificate can be printed to show your completion of the programme. There is also an opportunity for credits against Foundation Degree modules.

Please bring note pad. You will also require a memory card/ hard drive, camera equipment etc.
