This course is for men and women who wish to work in barbering.
Applicants must have GCSEs grade A-D (7/8 - 3) in English and maths, and have a satisfactory reference. Good manual dexterity and good oral communication are also essential for this course.
Principles and practices of hairdressing and barbering services; shampooing; cutting hair using barbering techniques; drying and finishing men's hair; cutting facial hair to shape using basic techniques; creating basic outlines and detailing in hair.
Both practical and theory areas will be assessed via practical assessments, written tests and assignments and verbal questioning.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will attain a Level 2 Technical Certificate in Barbering.
