Keen motivated parents, carers, and volunteers be part of an exciting journey of learning and fun, while you develop skills, knowledge, and understanding of early years settings and the developing child.

Learners should be at least 18 years of age and have an E3 literacy level. Conditional offers of places are subject to exam results, references, and suitability to work within the education sector.

The programme of study is 3 hours a week in college for 18 weeks. It is recommended that students are also volunteering in an early years setting. The course will cover two Mandatory Units: The value of play for babies and young children and Management and organisation in an early years setting, plus one optional unit. The Award will require students to complete 6 credits in total from Mandatory and Optional Units.

The qualification will be assessed by a range of methods. This could include written tasks and verbal questions.
