This course is for those who wish to gain experience and a qualification in the field of assistive technology applied to health and social care within the community settings. This programme will enable participants to develop an initial understanding of technology applications in care. Telehealth and telecare awareness for health and social care providers will provide participants with an understanding of the benefits of technology in health and social care, as well as develop their knowledge on implementing and evaluating service redesigns, and incorporating assisted living into care pathways.
The course is suitable for those aged 16+ interested in how assisted living technologies can support the Health & Social Care sector. Level 1 Literacy is a requirement.
The learners will develop their knowledge on the following areas: Key terminology in the field of telehealth services; Understanding how assisted living initiatives may influence ways of working with patients; Understanding the impact of assisted living on a patient's quality of life; Understanding the legal and ethical implications of using assisted living technology in health and social care; Understanding the advantages and disadvantages of using assisted living technology; Using assisted living equipment.
Assessment is through a variety of methods designed to meet the learning outcomes for the course, including assignments and practical work.
