This course is for experienced adults working in the crash repair industry looking to obtain accredited certification in the discipline/area of vehicle panel beating. (Please note Welding qualification AOM 009 must be achieved and a minimum of 3 years' experience is needed before any panel qualification can be taken.)
A minimum of 3 years industry experience in vehicle body repair is required, and candidates MUST present a current Assessed Outcome Module Certificate for AOM - 009 to the centre when registering for ATA Panel Full Assessment or AOM Update.
The first day of the course will allow candidates to familiarise themselves with our work shop equipment and prepare for starting the IMI accreditation assessment. This will continue with candidates completing an online test and 7 practical tasks covering different skills. The tasks will cover the following areas: Cosmetic Panel Alignment MET - Complex Panel Damage (Rectification) Welded Panel/Section MAG/MIG Braze/Bond/Rivet Rectify body shell misalignment (Setup, measure, adjust) Aluminium repair and cold filler repair
You will be assessed by a combination of practical observation and an online test.
On successful completion you will achieve an IMI Senior Panel Technician accreditation certificate
