This course is suitable for all electricians and /or trainees that are currently working in the Electrical industry. The NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installations is usually completed in the workplace, and demonstrates competency against the National Occupational Standards.
For this Level 3 NVQ qualification you must be currently employed in the electrical installation industry and wish to demonstrate your ability to work safely and competently to a recognised national standard. You will also need to have a Level 3 diploma in Electrical Installations.
During your study you will cover the following areas: Health and Safety legislation, Environmental legislation, Practices and procedures for overseeing and organising the work environment. Principles of planning and selection for the installation of electrotechnical equipment and systems. Practices and procedures for the preparation and installation of wiring systems and electrotechnical equipment. Cable termination. Inspection and testing. Fault finding and Electrical principles. To complete these qualifications, you will cover topics including: Health and Safety legislation Principles of planning and selection for the installation of electrotechnical equipment and systems Fault finding.
Each of the key 8 study areas will be assessed throughout the course, using online tests and practical observations in your workplace by a qualified assessor. You will be given help to prepare for these assessments.
