Are you a professional chef ready to take your cooking skills to the next level? The NVQ 3 Professional Chef's Diploma is designed for experienced chefs who are seeking to progress to supervisory roles within the working kitchen. This professional cookery course is based at our state of the art training facility at Hospitality House, where you will train alongside fellow professionals from London and the Home Counties.

To qualify for this course you should have NVQ or VRQ Level 2 Professional Cookery, or a minimum of 3 years' experience as a chef in the hospitality industry. You also need to be currently working in a professional kitchen, with supervisory tasks as part of your role. You will need to provide evidence of employment at enrolment as the course includes assessment in your workplace.

Core supervisory units are included in the programme providing you with the skills to effectively monitor and control: Resources, Hygiene, health and safety, Menu development, and Team Communication. Specific culinary units equip you with the skills to prepare and cook a range of complex classifications including: Meat & Poultry Dishes, Soups and Sauces, Fish & Shellfish Dishes, and Pasta Dishes.

Your chef tutor will demonstrate the skills required to be competent for each unit. After practice, you will then be assessed while preparing and cooking menus for our conference facility. You will also be assessed in the workplace. For each unit you will be required to produce written work in order to cover the required national standards.

No, you will not need an interview for this course.

You will need to provide a full chefs uniform and set of professional knives. If you do not possess these please contact for further information.
