For students aged over 18 who would like to be a Teaching Assistant in a school. You will achieve a teaching assistant qualification required to gain employment in a primary or secondary school.

Students should have a voluntary placement arranged in a school. You will require competent IT skills for the e-portfolio. Conditional Offer: Subject to exam results, references, suitability to work within the childcare/education sector

One day a week in college, plus independent study using an e-portfolio. Students will be required to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

There will be an Internal assessment using a range of methods including direct observations (being visited at your setting), an e-portfolio of evidence, written assignments and a set of tasks set by CACHE.

CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools (QCF).

Yes, we would like to meet you, it's all very informal. You will also be required to complete a written task. Please ensure you bring a handwritten personal statement of approximately 200 words to your interview, stating why you would like to work in the Childcare sector.

There will be additional costs for: study materials, travel costs to and from your placement, Disclosure & Barring Service and text books

You will be required to provide evidence of at least 12 hours per week placement practice at your interview. You will require access to a PC for independent study and require IT skills including Microsoft Word.
