This part-time course is designed for students over 19 years old who wish to pursue a highly paid job as a .net programmer; this would be particularly suitable for people retraining for jobs with high salaries, single mums, parents and so on.

You will need ambition, dedication and attention to detail. You need a determination to work hard and pursue top, very well-paid programming jobs. This course is about becoming one of the best. Good communication skills, maths and English are useful, as well as a reasonable knowledge of IT. Knowledge of programming languages would be a bonus.

2 tutored sessions weekly - 80% programming content; 20% Industry knowledge and IT guidance. The course is run by a programming contractor with 18 years programming experience and an IT company managing director. Programming: Intro to the web; courses on html, css through online tutorials;work through exercises with the help of the tutor; lab sessions with course tutor; Intro to C# - tutorials; exercises; lab sessions with course tutor; introduction to ASP.NET MVC with entity framework; introduction to SQL and SQL server. The non-programming element is learning to understand what skills/direction suit you best. Some programmers are more suited to database and details, others to design; we aim to establish your strength and depth to prepare you for the right programming jobs. The course is dependent on self-learning, and provides an excellent path to programming in the real world. You have weekly direct access to the tutor to help you with problem solving.

Assessment will be via working on live projects; there will be ongoing assessments and a final certification program.

The IPS Academy will offer contracts to the highest performing students; all course completers will receive an IPS academy certificate and the top 3 graduates will be offered full -time jobs and a certificate of distinction.
