This course is for people who wish to study this vocational subject at College at Level 1, but need some extra time and support to work on basic skills such as English and maths.

Applicants should be able to research and produce work on their own as well as part of a team and will need to pass the practical test at interview. This equates with Literacy and Numeracy Functional Skills Level E3.

This course will cover many topics including the following: An introduction to hairdressing; assisting and supporting a stylist; health and safety; literacy, numeracy, communication, IT and also developing self-confidence and other personal skills; numeracy; communication; IT; developing confidence, personal and academic skills

Assessment will be through practical observations, oral questions and project work.

On successful completion of this course, you will attain a Level 1 Certificate in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector, as well as English and Maths.
