For learners who want to develop their reading and writing skills. This course can easily be combined with our general English classes so that you can improve your reading and writing for exams and work.
Your level should be intermediate (B1 CEFR.) We will test you to make sure the class is right for you.
Reading skills: A range of different text types, understanding context and meaning. Predicting meaning of unknown/unfamiliar vocabulary. Developing skimming and scanning skills. Writing skills: Spelling and punctuation, planning and paragraphing. Writing emails and formal letters and writing stories, reports and essays.
All students will be given a piece of writing homework every week.

You can be assessed at Southgate Campus, Mon - Fri. 10.00 - 12.00 The test usually takes 1 hour. If you cannot come for an assessment we can send you the test by email.
You should bring a file and notebook to all your classes.
You can start this course at any time during the year. Maximum class size: 20.
There is a great social programme for you to enjoy e.g. trips to museums and the theatre, visits to places outside London like Brighton and Cambridge.
